NA KIRI

NL Nederlands GB English

NA KIRI is a group of 10 (Ducth) people, 8 musicians (3 female, 5 male) and 2 dancers (1 female, 1 male). Our music is based on the traditional West-african rhythms, more specific from the Republic of Guinea (Conakry).
The members of the group are trained by several prominent teachers from both Africa and Europe. Some members have studied the music at its roots by traveling to Guinea.

The basic instruments are the Djembé and the Doun-doun's, a set of three tuned bass-drums (doundumba, sanghban and kenkeni). Other instruments we use are the Balaphon, the Krinj, Kissi-kissi.
